Maribel, who grew up with her siblings in Virginia but details of the family's lives aren't available. was a child of parents and grandparents. At the age of a young girl she was interested in working in the legal profession as an attorney. But after she completed her high school, she chose to attend the University of Virginia. There she completed a master's degree in foreign Policy and a minor in German. Thomas Jefferson one of Declaration of Independence's authors founded the institution in 1819. More than a century of educational programs are offered by the school and was constructed around the Jefferson's Academical Village - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. About 1,600 acres of land are dedicated to the university's central campus as well as a number of acres to the research park and the school's farm. When she completed her education, Maribel furthered her studies at New York Law School to take on an Juris Doctor.
